Fix an eSIM problem
Search by device, error or setting. Keep the eSIM installed while troubleshooting and never share its QR code or activation code.
iPhone installation
- Open Settings → Cellular or Mobile Service → Add eSIM → Use QR Code.
- Scan from another screen, or choose Enter Details Manually and use the protected SM-DP+ address and activation code.
- Under Settings → General → About, confirm Carrier Lock says “No SIM restrictions.”
- Label the line “Travel,” keep your home line for calls if needed, and select Travel for cellular data.
iPhone has no data
- Open Settings → Cellular/Mobile Service → Travel eSIM and turn on this line and Data Roaming.
- Confirm Cellular Data is set to the Travel eSIM; turn off Cellular Data Switching while testing.
- Toggle Airplane Mode for 30 seconds, then restart.
- If the package shows an APN in My eSIMs, enter it under Cellular Data Network without inventing a username or password.
- For manual carrier selection, turn off Automatic under Network Selection and try only a carrier listed in the plan details.
Google Pixel installation
- Open Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add SIM → Set up an eSIM.
- Scan the protected QR code or use the manual activation option.
- Open the new SIM, turn on Use SIM, then select it for Mobile data.
Pixel has no data
- Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → choose the travel eSIM; turn on Mobile data and Roaming.
- Set the preferred network to 5G/LTE as available. Under Network, try a listed plan carrier.
- Check Access point names and use the APN shown in your protected order.
- Last resort: Settings → System → Reset options → Reset Mobile Network Settings. This resets network preferences, not the eSIM profile.
Samsung Galaxy installation
- Open Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM → Scan QR code.
- Turn on the new eSIM and select it under Mobile data.
- In Mobile networks, turn on Data roaming for the travel line.
Menu wording varies by One UI version and country. If Add eSIM is absent, verify the exact model and sales region.
Samsung has no data
- Settings → Connections → SIM manager: enable the travel eSIM and choose it for Mobile data.
- Settings → Connections → Mobile networks: enable Data roaming.
- Open Access Point Names and enter only the APN shown by Simpriest.
- Open Network operators, disable Select automatically, and test a carrier listed for the plan.
- Toggle Airplane Mode, restart, and temporarily disable VPN or custom Private DNS while testing.
QR code says used or invalid
Many supplier QR codes are single-install. First check Settings for an existing eSIM with the same ICCID ending shown in My eSIMs. If it exists, enable it instead of scanning again. If it was deleted or installed on another phone, do not keep retrying—open a support case so we can check supplier status and replacement eligibility.
Locked phones and regional restrictions
eSIM hardware support and carrier-unlocked status are separate checks. Some device variants sold in particular markets omit or restrict eSIM, and local regulation or carrier policy can limit activation. Check the exact model number, EID presence, sales region, destination restrictions and unlock status. Simpriest cannot unlock a phone.
Still not working?
Open a protected case and include device model, OS version, destination, current country, error text, whether the eSIM appears in Settings, signal status, APN and networks tried. Attach a screenshot that hides QR, activation code, email and other private data.
